Thor Strength Gym - Littleton, Colorado
ABOUT US
The idea of Thor Strength was born in 2014, as Strong Island Coaching. Through the years, this idea has evolved from a basement mobility workout to a beach conditioning class to what Thor Strength is today. We pride ourselves on building a well-rounded program - centered around strength, core stability, mobility and general physical preparedness (GPP).
Strength and core stability have become the main pillars used to guide our members to a more successful future. Mobility is the structural integrity of the pillars, allowing us to move more freely and without limitations. GPP is our supplemental work, established to complement our strength movements, eliminate muscle imbalances and promote better mental and physical conditioning. No matter where you’re coming from, we will meet you there and help you achieve your goals.
What began as a personal training side project has transitioned into a professional coaching community where our members motivate one another. We pride ourselves on establishing a body neutral space, where you can feel comfortable in your skin, and be praised for the progress in your strength.
About Coach Pk
I first discovered strength training during my freshman year of high school, when I met my parent’s personal trainer. This led me to get my own certification a few years later. I started coaching friends and others students during college.
Upon graduating from Clark University with a B.S. in Biology, I moved to Bahamas for a year. During my time in the Bahamas, I worked primarily as a divemaster, but I also developed a training program. I even built functional gym on the beach for guests.
When I returned to NY, I went back to school to get my M.B.A. As a graduate student, I also managed an Anytime Fitness - where I not only helped during the opening stages, but also led all personal training. During this time of my life, I discovered Strongman and began competing.
In 2018, I decided that I wanted to move somewhere else and start the next chapter of my life, which led me to Denver, CO. Since moving here, I’ve been building my coaching business. I began by working at a box gym, then rented space at a private studio. After a while, I decided to turn my garage into a training studio. Business grew to a point where my next step was to sign a lease and open Thor Strength. Now we are in our second space and I’m so excited to continue to grow this community and see everyone progress.
In strongman, I’ve competed at the national and world level. My best places have been 2nd (nationals) and 5th (worlds). Over my career, I’ve broken several state, national and world records. The atlas stone is the record I’m most proud of - 335lbs! I’ve also broken two powerlifting state records. It’s not all about breaking records here. But I pride myself on my ability to get people stronger.
PADI DIVEMASTER
Right after graduating from college, I was on a plane to Andros island, in the Bahamas, to work at a resort. I spend a year teaching guests how to dive. I’ve logged over 500 dives. My favorite dives were the ones with sharks.
Soccer Fan
Unfortunately, not the Rapids. But I’m a big Manchester United supported. Despite the early schedule, I do my best to watch every game, even though I know it will end in heartbreak. You might even catch me at the British Bulldog, bright and early!
ICE CREAM LOVER
I love Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food…and I am not ashamed! When I began bulking to compete in strongman, Phish Food and I were attached at the hip. I always make sure that I get my regular dose of ice cream.
